Overview
Dhikala is the most famous forest lodge in Corbett National park. Situated 32 kms inside the jungle, Dhikala forest lodge offers breathtaking view of Ramganga reservoir. Dhikala forest lodge has most number of rooms in the park. There are 2 canteens inside Dhikala Forest Lodge.
Dhikala forest lodge is located in the hearth of Corbett national park on the bank on Ramganga reservoir. Dhikala forest lodge or Dhikala forest rest house is managed by forest department of Corbett national park and provides an opportunity to the visitors of the national park to stay inside the forest. Picturesque location and beautiful surroundings make it an ideal place to stay away from the hustle bustle of city life. Dhikala forest lodge is the only lodge within the national park which provides the facility of electricity within the rooms and thus is ideally suited for families. In order to reach Dhikala forest lodge, one has to enter the Corbett national park via Dhangarhi gate. The distance of Dhikala forest lodge is 32kms from Dhangarhi gate and as soon as the vehicle enters Dhangarhi gate, one gets the idea about the beauty of Dhikala zone. Other lodges like Gairal, Sultan, Sarapduli, Khinnanauli fall on the way to Dhikala forest Lodge. The journey from Dhangarhi to Dhikala forest lodge is adventurous and provides many opportunities for wildlife viewing. For the safety of its visitors Dhikala forest lodge is covered with solar wire fence.
For those people who would like to experience the wilderness of a national park at its best, the option to stay at an FRH inside the park is the best option. When the sound of various animals comes from the dense dark forest, nothing in this world compares with that feeling of joy mixed with fear.
Accommodation
When you pick up your torch to have a look at your surroundings, you can sight lots of eyes glowing in the light of your torch from the outside of the Rest House's electrical fencing. Deer, Wild Boars and sometimes even Tigers can be seen and heard very close to the fencing of the Rest House.

Attractions
Canter Safari
Canter Safari in Corbett is the best option for those who reside outside the Dhikala Zone and wish to sight the wildlife of the area. Canter is a 16 seater open air bus that drives from Ramnagar to Dhikala and then back to Ramnagar. For canter safari also one needs to make prior booking using the official website.
Chaurs (Grass Lands)
Dhikala is famous for the vast grassland that is packed with Elephants, Spotted Deers, Wild pigs, Hog Deersetc. Often visitors can spot a wild Tiger crossing the grassland or chasing a deer.
Watch Tower
Watch tower situated at Dhikala is perfectly located and enables you to get an excellent view of wildlife which are come for grazing into the nearby chaurs, It also gives you an excellent view of entire ramganga riverbed as well as a large section of Dhikala chaur. This watch tower is located at a 10 mins walk from Dhikala forest rest louse. There is a man made waterhole around fifty yards to the south of the watchtower which makes it the perfect place to spot Deers, elephants, wild pigs and occasionally a Tiger.
Crocodile Point at Gairal
Crocodile pool is located on the short cut from Gairal to the other rest houses west of it. It is also a balcony-like natural structure, which looks down upon a pool almost permanently inhabited by crocodiles.
Sambar Trail
This jungle track extends from the base of the Dhikala watchtower till the Khinanauli rest house. This area probably has the maximum sighting of tigers in the area.This is due to its ideal location between the hills on one side and the riverbed on the other. Most of the animals cross over in this area while moving down for water. Elephants are also frequent visitors to this track and it is important to be able to reverse your vehicle as easily as you drive it forward, if you plan to drive down this way just before sunset in the summer months. A couple of Serpant Eagles also had their nest high up in a tree beside this track. If patience is one of your virtues, it can almost be guaranteed that this track will not send you back disappointed.
Safari Options at Dhikala Zone
hikala is a very popular destination among tourist because of its numerous safari facilities. There are options of wildlife safari with open jeep or elephant ride. You can pick one or both options. The major safari routes are Dhikala grass land, Sambhar Road, Ram Singh Road, Thandi Sadak, Mota Sal. There are also two watch towers from where visitors can enjoy a quite view of movements of wild animals. In every area opportunities of spotting the great animal tiger is possible. The crocodile point at the high bank area is a wonderful place to catch glimpses of Crocodiles and Ghariyals. It's a great place to relax and unwind. It can also turn out to be a heaven for wildlife photography enthusiasts.
